Figure Sculpture Series I (2009-2010) & Series II (2011)

Statement:

The female figure is a deeply rooted representation in the history of art. It has been the subject of countless paintings and inspiration for many designs.  At what point is she an object? At what point has the artist painted or shaped her into the desires of his own mind? When does she cease to be a flesh and blood body and become a form after our own imagination?

In this inquiry the tradition of figure sculpture has led me on an exploration of the expressive power of presence (or lack thereof), the space around the figures, and the space around us.
